There’s an opportunity for National Orthopaedic Alliance (NOA) members to contribute to the development of MedTech Compass- a new digital platform from DHSC designed to support faster, more consistent, and evidence-based procurement decisions for medtech.
Compass will store validated product data and value claims, helping procurement teams compare products based on clinical outcomes and long-term value and not just price. It will also reduce duplication by allowing suppliers to submit standardised data once for use across multiple procurements, improving data quality, and helping to speed up the adoption of high-value innovations across the system.
The project is now entering its Alpha phase (Oct 2025–Feb 2026), where a prototype will be tested with end users to ensure it meets real-world needs.
How you can help:
DHSC are looking for contacts from the procurement community to take part in this phase. Your input will help shape a tool that could significantly streamline procurement processes across the NHS. If your Trust is interested, please contact Jason Nolan, Jason.Nolan@dhsc.gov.uk for details.
