Commercial drone operations in the UK healthcare sector are expanding significantly as the NHS launches its second major drone delivery initiative in London.
Building on successful operations with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, the NHS is now deploying zero-emission drones to transport urgent pathology samples across southwest London.
The new drone delivery service operates between Nelson Health Centre in Merton and St George’s Hospital’s central laboratory in Tooting, marking a substantial expansion of NHS-backed autonomous logistics. The operation represents a continuation of the nation’s capital’s growing role as a testbed for commercial drone applications in regulated airspace.
