A commercial laundry business, which serves the healthcare and hospitality markets through seven operating facilities across England, is being acquired by Canada's K-Bro in a £107.2m deal.

Star Mayan is an investment and holding company which owns three operating businesses: Derby-headquartered Synergy Health Managed Services, Grosvenor Contracts (London) and Slough-based AeroServe.

With bases in Derby, Bermondsey, Dunstable, Sheffield, Slough (2), and St Helens, in addition to a distribution depot in Manchester, Star Mayan has a diversified customer base including hospitals, healthcare facilities, NHS Trusts, Community Trusts, airlines, marine ferries and hospitality providers.

K-Bro is the largest owner and operator of laundry and linen processing facilities in Canada and also has a presence in the UK through its Fishers and Shortridge laundry businesses.
