The Rt Hon James Murray MP has replaced Wes Streeting MP as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care following Streeting’s resignation.

Following the resignation of Dr Zubir Ahmed MP, Preet Kaur Gill MP has replaced him as Health Minister.

NICE have recently appointed Dr Adrian Hayter as CMO, strengthening clinical leadership under CEO Professor Jonathan Benger.

ICBs and trusts

  • Cambridge University Hospitals FT has appointed former civil servant and interim chief executive Nicola Ayton as its permanent CEO after a competitive process. A former Treasury and NHS England director, she succeeds Roland Sinker amid ongoing fallout from failures around surgeon Kuldeep Stohr.
  • Humber Health Partnership has confirmed Lyn Simpson as Substantive Chief Executive after an open recruitment process, following earlier governor objections to her appointment. Sir Jim Mackey welcomed the move as vital to improving the struggling Hull and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole trusts.
  • Sherwood Forest FT has named charity leader Rukshana Kapasi as Chair from 6 July. Director of Health at Barnardos since 2020 and a Non-Executive Director at Hertfordshire Community Trust, she brings experience tackling inequalities and strong local roots.
