One of the senior directors who left NHS England in the spring has taken up an executive role at a large management consultancy.
Dame Emily Lawson has been appointed chief operating officer at Newton Consulting where she will be “responsible for setting the organisation up for further growth” and combining “central functions across the business into one strategically focused unit”.
She was COO at NHSE from November 2023 to March this year. Prior to this, she set up and ran the delivery unit in 10 Downing Street from August 2021 to October 2023, serving under prime ministers Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak.
