Background

HCSA Future Leaders Network has picked some of the brightest talent in the procurement and supply chain community. to serve on a think tank to ensure they are playing an active role in developing programmes and events that serve them best.

The network members are taken from PDP attendees including two winners of the course who have subsequently served a year on the HCSA Board of Trustees. HCSA hosts regular meetings with the network to ensure the organisation stays up to date with all concerns around career progression, working environments and access to L&D requirements. Information and feedback that comes from the network meetings helps plan the programme for our annual Future Leaders event which takes place at the HCSA Winter Conference.

GROUP LEADERS

Tom Crouch - Deputy Chair

Senior Procurement Manager, NHS London Commercial Hub.

I previously trained as a professional chef & commercial vehicle salesperson (Ford Specialist) so food & vans.

My professional goal is to punch into the Procurement world and develop & assist, where I can, as much as possible. Given my progression within a short window from procurement administrator – to procurement specialist, I think this is on track.

Tom Plater - Deputy Chair

Business Partner, Moorfields Eye Hospital

Following graduating from Swansea University with an economics degree, Tom started off his NHS career at the Royal Berkshire Hospital as a receptionist at eye casualty during the summer of 2020 during the Covid19 pandemic. He ended the year working as a senior business analyst at RUH Bath before embarking on a Masters in Management with Henley Business School. He then decided to return to the NHS to join Guys and St Thomas to undergo a sourcing manager apprenticeship in 2022, before being promoted to a sourcing manager in the summer of 2023.
