Preeya Bailie has been announced as the new Director of Central Commercial Function.
The announcement was made on International Women’s Day on Friday and Preeya Bailie said: “The Commercial sector can typically be thought of as male dominated, however, the NHS has a significant number of fantastic, skilled women in commercial roles. I am incredibly proud to work alongside a roster of talented, dedicated and inspiring colleagues every day.
On International Women’s Day I am also incredibly proud to announce that I have been appointed as the new Director of Central Commercial Function. I am excited about this new role and look forward to hitting the ground running.
I have been at NHS England for 5 years, and look forward to this next chapter, continuing to support the NHS to deliver on its commercial ambitions.
As senior leaders, it’s important that we pave the way for other women to progress in the commercial space and think about how we collectively use our voice to support and champion other women.
I am lucky to have had strong women endorse me throughout my career, whether it’s in meetings or to other seniors, which has inevitably opened doors for me and I am committed to doing the same for the wonderful female colleagues that I work with, ensuring that they are included and given the opportunity to progress in their careers.”
