HCSA National Council

What are you most proud of?

My daughters who are 23 and 21. It’s lovely to see the beautiful, kind and determined young women they’ve grown up to be.

What makes you angry?

Litter bugs– I’ve been known to shout at people if I see them drop litter and discrimination of any kind.

What sports team do you support (if any)?

I am Welsh and a rugby fan, so it won’t be a shock to say I support Wales, which is a bit depressing at the moment.

I also love Formula 1 and although I like quite a few teams and drivers, I’d have to say I support Red Bull and Max the most.

Which famous person would you like most like to meet and why?

I’d like to meet Sir Chris Hoy; I watched him race at the Manchester velodrome years ago in a round of the world cup which he won. He was inspirational throughout his career but even more so now and I am in awe of his strength and courage.

Which superpower would you most like to have?

Teleportation, I wish I could teleport home on the last day of every holiday, and I’d love to explore the world at weekends.

What historical figure do you most admire and why?

Rosa Parks for her bravery and courage to say no.

What’s your perfect weekend?

Having both daughters’ home, we’d all go for a nice long walk with our cocker spaniel Murray, followed by a nice meal and a board game.

What’s your favourite meal?

I do love food, so this is quite difficult, but a Thai meal is probably my favourite.

Can you describe yourself in one word?

Optimistic – not hopelessly so but I do have a positive outlook whether it be work related or personal.

What do you hope to be doing in 5 years from now?

I hope to be still enjoying my career in the NHS and having plenty of holidays!
